FAQ

  • Where can I find The Lost Feather?

We currently do not have a physical location, but we’ll be at pop-ups throughout Southern California. Check out our Events page for up to date pop-up locations and dates!

  • Can I hire The Lost Feather for an event?

YES! We would love to be a part of whatever event you have in mind for us — wedding, bachelorette, team outing, baby shower, anything! Please reach out via our contact form to provide more information about your event, and we will get back to you with pricing, minimums, and all other details asap!

  • How long will it take to design my hat?

Our custom hats take around 20-30 minutes to assemble. We want the hat to reflect your personal style, so we may ask a few questions to get a better idea of who you are and how you dress. If you already have a vision, that could speed up the process.

  • How do I clean my hat?

You can clean your Lost Feather hat with items you likely already have in your home. A lint roller and soft-bristled brush will work wonders for dust, dirt, and hair. For stains, we recommend dipping a cloth into a solution of laundry detergent and water to dab on the stain. Air dry away from sunlight.

  • How do I resize my hat?

To make your hat smaller, simply pull the ribbon underneath the sweat band and re-velcro the end of the ribbon where you need it. To make your hat larger, you will need to steam the hat first then stretch it out. We use a hat stretcher, but you can also gently stretch the hat with your hands.

  • How do I reshape my hat?

Reshaping also requires steam. Use your hands to bend the hat to your preference, or flatten the hat out by laying a heavy object on the bent portion. If you’re local, we are happy to help resize or reshape at any of our events!

  • What do I do if something falls off my hat?

We do not glue anything to your hat during customization. That is intentional so you may swap out trims as you please. That said, it’s possible a feather or flower might fall off. (That’s how we got our name.) If you still have the object on hand, lift the trims up and insert the missing piece.
